Dragon & Lion Dances at Pearl River Mart

On Sunday February 5th, Pearl River will host a traditional Chinese LION AND DRAGON DANCE to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. Master Wan's martial arts groups will delight audiences of every age with authentic acrobatics and dazzling costumes. This event is FREE for all.

Year of the Dragon: Birth Rate Spike (Daily News)
When Lunar New Year is celebrated later this month, it will usher in the auspicious Year of the Dragon - and maybe a bumper crop of babies. "I would say the birth rate will go up because of the symbol," Chinatown Partnership executive director Wellington Chen said last week. The dragon is the most powerful of the 12 signs in the Chinese zodiac, which assigns an animal to each year. Korean and Vietnamese astrology also mark 2012 as a dragon year.
