  -  The newly constructed, Maya Lin designed Museum of Chinese in America opens 9.22.09.

  -  America's Chinatown Voices are on view at Columbus Park until 08.08.09.  70 to 80 panels of portraits and     comments are rotated once a week.  All community members are invited to speak their minds on the future of     Chinatown
  - Food writer Fuchsia Dunlop published classic volumes on Sichuanese & Hunanese cuisine recently released      Shark's Fin and Sichuan Pepper: A Sweet-Sour Memoir of Eating In China. The book recounts her year      at the Institute of Higher Cuisine in Chengdu and experience in China
   - Yang Fudongs's Seven Intellectuals in a Bamboo Forest, inspired by the fifth century legend "The Sages      in a Bamboo Grove" is playing at Asia Society through 09.13.09.  "One of the most original works of art to      come out of China in the past decade, with a ravishing beauty that transcends cultural theories"  - Time Out      New York.
